Turning Over a Stone: Tales of Turtles, Snakes, and Ancient Art

G'day mates, Avalon here!

Welcome to another thrilling instalment of the "Whoop Whoop Walkabout Blog," where we dive into the mysteries and wonders of the great Victorian rural out skirts.

So, I was out on one of my classic outback tours, giving my guests the full black fella's experience. You know the drill: dust, sun, and a healthy dose of my legendary bush wisdom.

We were trekking through a particularly rugged patch of the bush, when I decided to show everyone the ancient art of "turning over a stone." Now, you might think this is just flipping a rock, but let me tell you, there's more to it than meets the eye.

As I turned over a particularly intriguing stone, I launched into my usual spiel about snakes. You see, contrary to popular belief, snakes in Australia don't hibernate. Nope, they just slow down a bit, like a bloke on a Sunday arvo after a big lunch. So, no worries there, but always keep your wits about you!

Underneath the stone, we stumbled upon something truly special—a small, weathered turtle. A sign of good fortune, or so I'm told. Turtles are like the bush's wise old men, slow and steady, just taking life one sandy step at a time.

Next to our little turtle friend, we discovered something even more fascinating: ancient Aboriginal rock art. It depicted an eel with the turtle, crafted long ago near what appeared to be an old fish trap. These artworks are a reminder of the deep connection between the land and the people who've walked it for thousands of years.

Now, some folks might say that turning over stones and finding treasures like this can unleash a curse or two. But in this case, it was a sign of plenty—plenty to eat and plenty to share. A good omen, if you ask me!

So, next time you're out in the bush, take a moment to turn over a stone or two. You never know what treasures you'll find or what stories the land will share with you. Remember, there's always more to see, more to learn, and more adventures to be had in this vast and beautiful country.

Until next time, keep your eyes peeled, your boots dusty, and your sense of humour intact. Whoop whoop!

Catch you later, and remember, if you find a stone, give it a flip—you might just uncover a tale worth telling!
