Day 28: How NOT to Camp on Sacred Ground – Whoop Whoop Walk About Tours

So, you’ve set up camp, cracked a cold one, and unknowingly pitched your tent on an ancient Aboriginal midden site—congrats, mate, you’ve just parked your swag on 40,000 years of history.  But no worries, Whoop Whoop Walk About is here to teach you how to appreciate and protect these spots before your next weekend getaway turns into a history lesson in what not to do!

There are three important midden sites near Echuca and Barmah where people have been camping like they’ve discovered the Outback themselves. Spoiler alert: the local people beat you to it by a few millennia. We’ll show you how to respect these ancient sites, share a few stories, and ensure you leave the land as untouched as possible—because "Leave No Trace" applies to more than just empty tinnies and forgotten thongs.

Join us on a tour where you’ll learn the ropes (and avoid a cultural faux pas) while discovering the real stories of the land. Not all history lessons are boring, especially when you’ve got a few laughs and a couple of oops moments along the way.

For more info on how to camp smart (and legally avoid ghostly looks from ancient spirits), give us a buzz!
